This ‘improbable farce’ concerns socialite and novelist Charles Condomine who lives with his second wife, Ruth. His first wife, Elvira, died young seven years earlier. However, after being visited by a “happy medium” – the eccentric Madame Arcati – Charles finds himself haunted by the ghost of his first wife.
